Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk Triumphs at the UK Box Office
One of the most highly anticipated films of the year has proven itself to live up to the hype. ‘Dunkirk’ from director Christopher Nolan has dominated the box office this past weekend with an estimated £9,500,000 debut.
With impressive works such as ‘The Dark Knight’, ‘Interstellar’ and ‘Inception’, Nolan is no stranger to box office hits. Critics continue to praise ‘Dunkirk’ as Nolan’s best film yet with its unique storytelling and dynamic filmmaking through IMAX and 65mm film. Nolan worked alongside producer Emma Thomas and executive producer Jake Myers.
Written and directed by Nolan, the film takes place in Dunkirk, France during WWII and focuses on three different aspects of the war—land, air and sea. Through Nolan’s creative vision, ‘Dunkirk’ delivers an immersive experience that will captivate its audiences from beginning to end. It’s resonating strongly with audiences of all kinds, depicting a realistic take on what the historical event was really like.
With an incredibly talented ensemble cast with notable names as well as promising newcomers that includes Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance, Kenneth Branagh, Cillian Murphy, James D’Arcy, Fionn Whitehead, Tom Glynn-Carney, Jack Lowden, Harry Styles, Aneurin Barnard and Barry Keoghan.

After debuting in cinemas this past weekend, the epic, suspenseful thriller gives Warner Bros. UK its biggest opening weekend of 2017.
