Sarah J. Maas’ ‘A Court Of Wings and Ruin’ lands May 2017

Ultimate queen of young adult fiction, Sarah J. Maas, has had the online community of bibliophiles in agony concerning her 2017 release, ‘A Court of Wings and Ruin’. With no title and no book cover in sight, book lovers had previously taken to creating their own pending titles. And whilst waiting for the Queen Bee to reveal her final decision, excitement for the new release only continued to grow. Once revealed, this proved the source of rife speculation over which character the title could be referring to.

This is the third release in her New York Time’s bestselling ‘A Court of Thorns and Roses’ series. A future three books, a collection of novellas and a colouring book have all been scheduled for release.

The title follows with the style of the preceding two in the series. Previous titles to ‘A Court of Wings and Ruin’ are ‘A Court of Thorns and Roses’ and ‘A Court of Mist and Fury’.

The series is Maas’ second bestselling fantasy creations. Her first, the ‘Throne of Glass‘ series, has sold over 200,000 copies in the US alone and has been optioned for TV.

This series is a loosely-based Beauty and the Beast retelling. Protagonist Feyre leads the reader through a darkly fantastical world, haunted by immortal fairies and nightmarish creatures. The humans have long feuded with these dark beings and divided the ownership of the world between them. When Feyre is forced to leave the relative safety of the human sphere and join her despised foe, she understands that her life will never be the same again.

With the first book in this series already confirmed as a future movie adaptation, ‘A Court of Wings and Ruin’ is already set to be one of the most anticipated reads of 2017.
