It’s no lie that I lowkey love musical episodes of TV shows. The thing with musical episodes is that you’re either going to love them or hate them. There’s no in-between. So when I heard that ‘The Flash’ and ‘Supergirl‘ were planning a musical crossover event, I wasn’t 100% on board with the idea. However, after actually watching the episode, I couldn’t’ve been happier with how it turned out.

At the end of this week’s episode of ‘Supergirl’, Kara was put into a coma by the Music Meister (Darren Criss) and then escaped to Earth-1 to pay a visit to The Flash. I was ready. I was a little annoyed by the fact that Mon-El was the one to bring Kara to Earth-1 and not Alex. But that’s just me nitpicking. Also J’onn transforming into the Martian in front of Team Flash was hilarious. I loved the Martian, Kid Flash and Vibe team up, epic.

As for the actual musical dream sequence, wow. It was so great to see Barry’s and Kara’s chemistry brighten my life once again. They just compliment each other so well and it’s such a pleasure to watch them together. More of this please writers. They’re just so goofy it’s ridiculously adorable. I want more.

Now for the musical numbers. A moment of silence for Melissa Benoist’s rendition of ‘Moon River’. Her voice is incredible and amazing. She’s so cute.

I’ll be honest, ‘Put a Little Love in Your Heart’ absolutely threw me into an emotional freak out. Having Blaine Anderson — erm, I mean Music Meister sing with Winn, Cisco and also Malcolm Merlin (all as other characters in the musical) was perfection. Also… WINN AND CISCO CAN SING? God damn. Jeremy Jordan I just fell more in love with you. You too, Carlos. My fave geeky boys have sung their way into my heart. I also got major Warblers vibes during the song. Anyone else?

‘More I Cannot Wish You’ sung by Joe, Stein and Malcom sang to Iris and Mon-El was a beautiful song that made me gush. All three men have incredible voices. I’m shook. A father’s love for his children is never-ending. Also, a moment for Joe and Stein as a couple… I died.

‘Super Friend’ written by Rachel Bloom (I died) was a duet sung by Barry and Kara. Okay, as cheesy as this was, I loved every fecking minute. I was smiling throughout the entire thing. And I 100% guarantee that it will be stuck in my head for the next few weeks. With the undeniable chemistry between these two superheroes, they pulled this number off perfectly.

For the last song of the episode, it took me by surprise and completely floored me. I wasn’t expecting it to take place in the real “present” world. Barry legit serenaded the love of his life, Iris West, with a beautiful and emotional original song. It’s called ‘Running Home to You’ and if you didn’t cry, you are lying to yourself. And what topped it off was the proposal at the end. NOT A DRY EYE IN THE HOUSE. WestAllen is everything to me. I will forever cherish that moment. Grant Gustin and Candice Patton were phenomenal.

I love, love that Iris’ love saved Barry from the musical dream. Not so much Mon-El with Kara but lets not talk about that. You cannot compare Karamel to WestAllen. You just can’t.

Anyways, I was really glad that the episode wasn’t overloaded with singing cause that would’ve drained it. They had just the right amount of singing and story. The Flash writers definitely succeeded in this special musical episode and I commend them all on their efforts. ‘Duet’ has become one of my favourite episodes thus far. Now we’re on the final stretch of the season. Shit’s about to hit the fan. What did you think?
