Little Mix claim the title for the fastest selling album since the Spice Girls

Oh what a glorious day this is today! Pop music is truly getting the recognition it deserves and it’s all down the four lovely ladies of Little Mix. ‘Glory Days’ has shot straight into Number 1 in the UK Charts, and to kinda make that even better, they have had the fastest selling first-week figures for a UK girl band since the Spice Girls in 1998. The girls sold a combined total of 96,000+ copies.

The album, ‘Glory Days’, was released last week and included the track ‘Shout Out To My Ex’ which also stormed to the top spot. Oh, and if they couldn’t quite do any better, they have a huge whopping world tour lined up for next year. Girl Power is well and truly back and it means business.

This incredible feat knocks Girls Aloud off the current spot when they sold 86k back in 2008 with their top selling album ‘Out of Control’. It always feels like a girl group do get a bit of a bad rep, and to see one which we all voted and rooted for on the X Factor to do so well, it’s basically celebrations all round for all of us.

And of course, the Little Mix girls are such a talent. They can sing, they can dance, they can write, they are fun and genuinely like each other. That intense girl band drama we CRAVE from other acts just isn’t needed with these girls because they are so fun but also never ever let quality control slip, as you can tell when you listen to the new album.

After hearing the news, the girls spoke about hitting the top spot for the first time with an album, “It has always been our ultimate dream to have a No.1 album and we can’t believe we’ve finally done it. Thank you to everyone that has made this possible and to all the fans that bought it this week. These really are our glory days!”.

Now, let’s all raise a toast and celebrate with the girls for true pop music reigning the charts once again.
